Bilaspur is a district of Himachal Pradesh state, India. It contains the manmade Govind Sagar Lake on the Sutlej River which acts as the reservoir for the Bhakra and Nangal Dam project.

Gobind Sagar Lake:
Gobind Sagar is a man-made reservoir situated in Bilaspur District, Himachal Pradesh. It is formed by the Bhakra Dam. The reservoir is on the river Sutlej and is named in honour of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh guru.

Bhakra Dam:
Bhakra Dam is a concrete gravity dam the Satluj River in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh in northern India. The dam, located at a gorge near the upstream Bhakra village in Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh of height 226 m.

Kandraur Bridge:
Kandror Bridge is one of the highest bridges in Asia. The construction of the bridge was started in April,1959 and was completed in 1965. The length of the bridge is about 280 meters with a breadth of about 7 meters. The height of Kandror Bridge above the lowest river bed below is about 80 meters, making it one of the highest bridge in the world.

Paragliding in Bilaspur:
Bilaspur is a very good place for Paragliding. there is a big lake besides landing field that makes it a ideal place for doing SIV, many pilots from all over the world come here for SIV, acro, xc and for tandem joyrides. It lies near the reservoir of Govind Sagar on the Sutluj River. It is first major town after entering himachal on way to manali. CLIMATE: Winters ranges from October to March or mid April, having temperature around freezing point, fog is encountered along bank of satluj. Summers ranges from April to September, temperature can go upto 44 degree sometimes. Sept-Oct and Feb-April is the best time for Paragliding here. When the lake is full, People enjoy water sports here like Swimming, kayaking and canoeing etc.


Vyas Cave: (Guffa)
It is situated in the foot of new Bilaspur township. It is believed that Rishi Vyas meditated in this cave. Vyas Cave (Guffa) is another famous destination in Bilaspur that holds significant importance and attracts a large number of tourists from every corner of the country.

Kol Dam:
The Koldam Dam Hydropower Project commonly known as KolDam, is an embankment dam on the Satluj River upstream of the Dehar Power House. It is 18 km from Bilaspur off the Chandigarh-Manali Highway (NH-21) near Barmana, Himachal Pradesh. The 800MW Koldam hydroelectric power project (HEPP) is under construction on the Satluj River in the Bilaspur District of Himachal Pradesh, India.

Fort Bacchretu:
The Fort is a very nice and peaceful place located on western slope of Kotdhar. The Fort was constructed by the ruler Raja Ratan Chand of Bilaspur. It is situated at an elevation of 3000ft above sea level and is rectangular in shape.

Fort Sariun:
The Fort is located at a distance of 58 Kms from Bilaspur and at an elevation of 1500 m above the sea level. It is an important place to visit on the trip to Bilaspur.

Fort Kotkahlur:
Kotkahlur fort is located just a few kilometres away from Ganguwal Hydro Electric Station and lies in Naina Devi Hill. It is a palace-cum-fort, constructed by Raja Bir Chand, an ancestor of Raja Kahal Chand. Built of stones, the fort has a square structure with each side approximately 30 metres long. There are two storeys each about 15 metres high and the floor of the second storey is supported by numerous high stone pillars. The upper storey of the fort has a small temple which houses a stone idol of Naina Devi.

Fort Bahadurpur:
The Bahadurpur fort is in its ruin, but its beauty can still be felt through the strcuture, which reflects the rich Chanderi heritage of Himachal Pradesh. Bahadurpur fort is on fort on the Bahadurpur dhar near Namhol. Bahadurpur fort is one of the major tourist attraction in bilaspur district.

Rukmani Kund:
Rukmani Kund is a reservoir surrounded by Rocky Mountains in the middle of a thick Sivalik Hills Forest in Bilaspur district. Rukmani Kund, 28 km from Bilaspur, was selected in HGKK (Har Gaon Ki Kahani Programme for the year 2012–2013. Rukmani Kund is considered the place of sacrifice of Rukmani and a Mela (fair) has been started here since some years on the name of sacrificer. A small temple has also been constructed here. It is the source of water supply for so many villages in the area.
